TMA Playlist

Classic Progressive House Mix CDs

Classic progressive house mix CDs from the late 1990s and early 2000s, curated by The Mix Archive from Nubreed, Renaissance and other essential series.

Before streaming turned everything into individual tracks, a good mix CD could live in the player for months. The sequencing mattered, the artwork mattered and discovering one record usually meant discovering another ten with it.

This playlist is for the progressive mix albums that do not need to sit under a single series such as Global Underground or Renaissance. Nubreed, Ian Ossia's Mutations, Guy Ornadel's Progressive Session and other TMA finds belong here.

Think of it as the CD rack beside the main Archive. The TMA pages provide the context and tracklists; the Mixcloud collection gives you a straightforward way to work through the music.

Why listen

Why this collection is worth your time

Mix CDs are where a lot of this music became personal. You might never have seen the DJ in a club, but you knew exactly what came after track six because the same disc had been hammered for months. This collection leans into that whole-album way of listening.

Where to start

Don't overthink it

Do not just pick the biggest title. Try one of the compilations you missed first time round. Finding an overlooked old mix that still works is basically the reason TMA exists.
