Sasha or Digweed in 1998?

Put John Digweed's Sydney CD1 next to Sasha's San Francisco CD1. Listen to the first twenty minutes of each, then notice how differently they build the tension.

A real published research preview

Global Underground 006: Sydney and 009: San Francisco are from the same year and the same compilation series. That doesn't make them the same listening experience. Digweed's Sydney begins with Fortunato & Montresor, Liquid Language and Pocket before the groove steadily gains weight. Sasha's San Francisco makes room for the drawn-out tension of Breeder's The Chain. One is a lesson in patient rhythmic programming; the other shows what happens when a DJ lets a record's pressure develop over time.

Try the first twenty minutes of each, back to back. You can hear the distinction without paying a penny. The Members Club guide compares the long middle, the closing stretches and the track-sequencing choices.

03 / Try a saved discovery

Paid members can use the real Listening Passport or collection tools across visits. Here you can try the interaction without an account.

The difference

Get the whole research trail—and keep your place.

Full member articles, organised listening journeys, your saved Passport and collector tools are the paid experience. This guest demo is a sample, not a replacement for those features.
