Trisco — Musak (Original Mix)
Before the Positiva remixes, Trisco's Musak was a 2000 twelve-inch on Vinyl Addiction, with the Original Mix and a Wonderland Avenue remix. It's a repetitive, strangely addictive club track: no big emotional hook, just a groove that works its way into a room. Nick Warren used the Wonderland Avenue mix in his long October 2000 HR3 Clubnight broadcast, which makes a brilliant listening comparison, but it isn't the same version as the original linked here. I love these little distinctions, because one remix could completely change where a track fitted in a night.

From Vinyl Addiction to Positiva
Musak appeared on Vinyl Addiction in 2000 with the Original Mix on one side and a Wonderland Avenue remix on the other. The later Positiva release widened the choice: the original, Steve Lawler's remix and other variations took the same central idea in different directions.
The original works without chasing an emotional peak. It is repetitive in the useful club sense: a hook you can lock onto, with enough change in the groove to keep you listening. It makes more sense on a long night than as a little three-minute excerpt.
The DJ-set connection
Nick Warren played the Wonderland Avenue remix in his October 2000 HR3 Clubnight broadcast. That matters because the original and the remix aren't interchangeable, even though both turn up under the title Musak in collector searches.
The TMA archive has that long Warren set, so there's a listening trail beyond the individual record. Put the original on first, then hear how a DJ used a different version to work a three-hour programme.
