Way before the arenas. Magik One is Tiësto in 1997, a live turntable mix on the brand-new Black Hole label, with long intros, melancholy edges, two of his own productions and none of the superstar machinery that came later. Black Hole was still a new label when this first Magik mix appeared in 1997. The selections and extended passages belong to the pre-arena Tiësto, before his name became inseparable from enormous trance events. It makes an interesting comparison with Magik Six, where the atmosphere and repertoire have moved closer to the version of him many listeners first discovered.
