Essential Mix

Nick Warren · 3 October 1999

Four years on from his first Essential Mix and Warren's still refusing to rush. October 1999 brings Bedrock, two Way Out West records and a brighter, trance-leaning finish, with the Global Underground years in full view. By October 1999 Warren had a much more established international profile, but the way he lets the mix develop still connects back to his earlier radio years. Bedrock and Way Out West offer familiar anchors, while the closing choices lean towards a brighter sound. Hear it alongside the 1995 Essential Mix and the similarities are at least as interesting as the differences.
