Global Underground 028: Shanghai (CD2)
- Progressive House
- Progressive
Proof Nick Warren's old patience survived the 2005 production shift. Shanghai CD2 is breaks, Hardfloor's acid, a run of unknown producers and a warmer melodic finish, still built his way. By 2005 the productions and tempos surrounding progressive house had changed, but Warren's willingness to let a disc develop hadn't vanished. Acid, breaks and less familiar names make Shanghai CD2 an interesting late-period comparison with his 1995 radio mix or the earlier Global Underground releases. It's here because it tells you something about continuity, not because every 2005 record belongs to the original era.
