Sasha & John Digweed: Renaissance, Northern Exposure, Twilo and the Partnership

If you still say Sasha and Digweed as one word, you're not wrong to. They became progressive house's defining partnership without ever quite becoming one act. Renaissance put them in the same booth, The Mix Collection put them on the same CDs, Northern Exposure made them famous, and Twilo gave them whole nights to work with. The partnership is easiest to understand through the records: Renaissance: The Mix Collection, Northern Exposure, its sequel and Communicate don't sound like four versions of the same idea. The pacing and mood change as the decade moves on. Their separate careers matter too, because the appeal wasn't that two people happened to agree on every record.
